Princess Diana Gown To Be Auctioned

Princess Diana's former butler is heading up an international online auction for one of her gowns.

Paul Burrell says the pale blue chiffon dress was created by Catherine Walker, one of Diana's favorite designers in the late 80s. Diana wore it to the Cannes Film Festival in 1987 and the London premiere of "Miss Saigon" in 1989.

The dress is valued at more than $300,000.

Auction proceeds will go to the America's Promise Alliance, a children's charity. The auction is live on eBay through next Wednesday.

A cable channel says it's selling the dress to honor Diana's charitable legacy. It bought the dress at Christie's in New York in 1997, just a month before the princess died.
