President Obama's Schedule Today (8/10/10)

In the morning, President Obama will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. Later, he will deliver a statement in the Rose Garden urging the House to pass a package of critical relief to states and funding to save approximately 160,000 teacher jobs across the country.

In the afternoon, the president will participate in an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony in the Oval Office. The following Ambassadors will attend:

  • Ambassador Alieu Momodou Ngum, Gambia
  • Ambassador Hubert John Charles, Dominica
  • Ambassador Joao P. Castanheira Do Vale de Almeida, European Union
  • Ambassador Abednigo Mandla Ntshangase, Swaziland
  • Ambassador Elkanah Odembo Absalom, Kenya
  • Ambassador Mohamed Lemine El Haycen, Mauritania
  • Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool, South Africa
  • Ambassador Elena Borislavova Poptodorova Petrova, Bulgaria
  • Ambassador Michael Kenneth Moore, New Zealand
  • Ambassador Zygimantas Pavilionis, Lithuania
  • Ambassador Afelee Falema Pita, Tuvalu

Later in the afternoon, Mr. Obama will meet separately with senior advisers and with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office.
