Police concern growing for missing Ill. 6-year-old Timothy Pitzen
(CBS/WBBM/AP) AURORA, Ill. - Suburban Chicago authorities searching for 6-year-old Timothy Pitzen say at least one of the steps his mother, Amy Fry-Pitzen, presumably took before she committed suicide and which suggested the boy was safe, actually did not happen.

Earlier this week, authorities said that after they found the body of Fry-Pitzen in a Rockford hotel May 15, they discovered Timothy's car seat was not in the car, leading them to believe Fry-Pitzen may have left the car seat with whomever she left her son.But Saturday, Aurora Police Chief Gregory Thomas said in a news release that the boy's grandmother had taken the car seat a week earlier.
James Pitzen, the boy's father, told CBS station WBBM last week, "I have a feeling that he's somewhere safe, that he has not been hurt or injured in any way, and that the people who have him don't know what's going on."
Thomas says authorities are growing increasingly concerned about the boy, who was last seen more than a week ago when Fry-Pitzen took him out of school.
Timothy is described as 4-feet-2-inches tall and 70 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing green shorts and a Spider-Man backpack.
Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora Police at 630-256-5500.
