One Direction immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds London

We've seen a lot of celebrity wax figures over the years, but the new One Direction statues may take the cake in terms of realness.

Fans of the Irish-British boy band got a chance to touch and kiss replicas of the teen heartthrobs during a gallery unveiling Thursday at Madame Tussauds in London.

"They look really realistic. They have the tattoos and everything," said one 15-year-old fan.

"It's so scary," said another fan.

Madame Tussauds London public relations manager Nicole Fenner said that Harry Styles and the rest of the boys spent time with museum sculptures in order to accurately capture their essence.

"We managed to get two sittings with them and hopefully the guests that they wanted to see will be pleased to see them here," Fenner said when the figures debuted.

U.S. fans will have the chance to see the wax replicas in person when the figures go on display at Madame Tussauds in New York from July 19 to Oct. 11.
