(DENVER) - Barack Obama thinks that he has found his secret weapon against John McCain – the economy.
For the second day today, Obama will argue that he "gets it" and McCain does not when it comes to the crisis on Wall Street and improving the economy. The campaign released an ad this morning called "Fundamentals" which focuses on McCain's statement yesterday that the "fundamentals of our economy are strong."
"How can John McCain fix our economy if he doesn't understand it's broken?" the narrator asks. The ad will run on cable and in battleground states.
Yesterday, the McCain campaign passed around an interview with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, where he supports McCain's statement.
"I do agree that fundamentally America has an economy that is strong," Bloomberg told the Politco. "I'd rather play America's hand than any other country," he said.
Obama will deliver a speech today at the Colorado School of Mines where he will call for more regulation of the financial industry.
