WOBURN, Mass. (CBS/AP) The son of a former NYPD cop has been indicted in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man inside a Harvard University dormitory last month.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said Friday that Jabrai Jordan Copney was indicted on charges including first-degree murder and armed robbery in the death of Justin Cosby, of Cambridge, MA.

According to the New York Post, Copney, 20, graduated in 2007 from a performing arts school in New York and produced compositions recorded by various artists, including R&B group New Edition.

D.A. Leone says Copney and two other men arranged to meet Cosby on May 18 to buy marijuana and rob him. During a confrontation inside a dormitory common area, Cosby was shot. He died the next day.

None of the men were Harvard students.

Copney turned himself in to Cambridge police on May 21 and has been held without bail. No date has been set for his arraignment.
