Nick Lachey's Next Hit — Baseball
Singer Nick Lachey is getting into the baseball business.
Lachey is part owner of the Tacoma Rainiers, a farm club for the Seattle Mariners.
Lachey says he plans to play an active role in the ownership. He even offered to be the team's designated hitter.
Lachey says his interest in owning a team was sparked a few years ago when the Cincinnati Reds came up for sale. Lachey is from Cincinnati.Photos: Nick & Jessica
That deal did not work out. Lachey says he jumped at the opportunity to be one of the owners of the Rainiers. He will own one-third of the franchise.
Lachey will be involved in developing entertainment for families, including concerts and autograph sessions.
