NFL Star Kills Man With Bentley; Gets One Month In Jail

MIAMI (CBS/AP) Three months ago, Mario Reyes, a 59-year-old construction worker, was trying to catch a Miami bus. He never made it. Instead, Reyes was run over and killed by a shiny black Bentley with a drunk NFL player at the wheel.

Now Cleveland Brown's wide reciever Donte' Stallworth will begin serving a 30-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter. He faced up to 15 years. After prison, he'll serve two years on house arrest, eight years on probation, and 1000 hours of community service. His driver's license will face permanent suspension.

Stallworth's light sentence was attributed to his cooperation with police and sense of remorse. He also settled with the Reyes family financially, avoiding a lawsuit. Stallworth signed a seven-year $35 million contract with the Browns last year.
