Despite the advent of open Web news services, some B2B players continue to get support: Bulletin News, a customized news alerts service for the corporate and government sectors, has received a $5 million initial round of $15 million in funding from Dubilier & Co., a private equity firm.
Based in McLean, Va., Bulletin News provides online news content, analysis and intelligence to its subscribers. The latest incarnation of the company was formed in June 2008 through the combination of two businesses, Bulletin News Network, Inc. and Custom Briefings, which was previously co-owned by BNN with U.S. News & World Report. Custom Briefings is a similar business to BNN, but is supported by advertising. The company will use the money to expand into other vertical areas. More details here.
