Moya, Huber Win Estoril Titles

Carlos Moya got what he wanted most no pain and defeated fellow Spaniard Francisco Clavet 6-3, 6-2 Sunday to win the Estoril Open.

Moya, ranked 46th in the world but troubled by recurring back problems, broke his opponent's serve twice in the first set and won the European tour's first clay-court event of the year in just over an hour.

"All I wanted was to finish a match with no pain in my back," said the 23-year-old player.

The former world No. 1 didn't have to battle much to beat his 31-year-old opponent, who was slower and appeared weary for much of the match.

Moya, a wild-card entry, had been struggling with his back, which forced his retirement from the Australian Open in January.

Clavet, who defeated Andre Agassi in Arizona last month, had knocked out the tournament's top seed, Russian Yevgeny Kafelnikov, in the first round.

Top-seeded Anke Huber of Germany won the women's title with a 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 victory against second-seeded Frenchwoman Nathalie Dechy .
