Morgan Freeman AFI honor airs on TV Land

(CBS) The American Film Institute ceremony honoring Morgan Freeman is being screened Monday on TV Land.

The private gala, taped June 9 at Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif., features speeches by a bevy of stars including Clint Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Tim Robbins and Forest Whitaker, film clips of Morgan's movies and video interviews with the actor and some of his colleagues.

Eastwood presented the 74-year-old with the honor, calling him "the greatest actor."

Whitaker described Freeman as "an adviser, a beacon, a confidant, a shoulder to lean on, protector and friend."
