First Lady Michelle Obama expanded her already notable social media presence by signing up for Snapchat Tuesday.

According to a Tuesday press release, she'll be snapchatting under the username "MichelleObama." The app will help kick off the first lady's international trip for the "Let Girls Learn" campaign, which begins on June 27 and ends July 1.

On the five-day trip Obama will visit Margibi County, Liberia; Marrakech, Morocco and Madrid, Spain to "learn about the more than 62 million girls around the world who aren't in school, and take action to support them." To this point, Obama has used much of her social media savvy to promote her "Let's Move" campaign.

Snapchat will also give behind-the-scenes views of the life of the first lady such as the White House Kitchen Garden "from planting to harvest." Followers of her account can expect "many guest appearances from Bo and Sunny" and even some celebrity snaps from "actresses and advocates" Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto.

Obama's Snapchat account reaffirms her commitment to the millennial generation who make up the majority of the mobile app's users.

It also comes as Snapchat surpasses Twitter in daily usage, according to Bloomberg Technology, which said earlier this month that Snapchat has 150 million people using the service, compared to fewer than 140 million for Twitter.

"The younger generation is not watching nightly news, not reading the newspapers, not watching Sunday morning shows--they're on their phones," Obama said. "So we had to start thinking of creative and fun ways to connect with folks."

On Tuesday, Obama premiered her Snapchat account with several snaps from James Corden of "The Late Late Show" promoting "Carpool Karaoke" with the First Lady for a future show.
