Michael Rosen

Michael Rosen was named executive producer of "The Early Show on Saturday," in June 2008.

Rosen initially joined "The Early Show" in 2005, when he was made a senior producer overseeing weekend coverage.

Rosen was Senior Vice President of Production and News for College Sports Television (2004-05)and, prior to that, was the senior broadcast producer for CNN's "Paula Zahn Now" (2003-04).

Rosen served as a senior producer for special events for ABC News (2000-03), where he helped oversee the network's coverage of the war in Iraq.

He also served as Northeast Bureau Chief (1996-2000) and assignment editor in the Northeast bureau (1991-96) for ABC News, where he supervised coverage of major news stories, including the crash of TWA Flight 800, the 1996 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, and the 1999 war in Serbia.

In addition, Rosen worked for ABC Sports as the chief writer and a producer (1986-1991), which included the 1988 Olympic Games.

Rosen began his career at Sport magazine, where he was a senior editor (1979-86).

Rosen has received three Emmy Awards for his work on the ABC News special about the turn of the century, "ABC 2000," ABC News' coverage of the 1989 San Francisco earthquake and ABC's "Wide World of Sports." He received two Peabody Awards for ABC News' coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks and "ABC 2000."

He was born in New York City and graduated with a degree in political science from Boston College in 1978.
