Mavs' Star Guard Injured

Michael Finley, the Dallas Mavericks' starting shooting guard and leading scorer, is sidelined with a sore foot.

Finley was examined Wednesday by Dr. Jim Brodsky, who told him he will miss the Mavericks' remaining four preseason games because of plantar fasciatis in his right heel. Finley was scheduled to undergo a bone scan today, which will determine if he has a stress fracture.

Other Mavericks' injuries mean the team is without three key players from its planned nine-man rotation, less than two weeks before the start of the regular season.

Point guard Steve Nash also will be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason. Nash was examined Wednesday and it was determined he had a strained tendon in his right ankle.

Center Shawn Bradley has a strained lower back. He skipped Wednesday's practice and was listed as day-to-day.
