Masi Oka

Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actor Masi Oka stars in the NBC series "Heroes" as Hiro Nakamura, a comic book aficionado who was given extraordinary powers, such as freezing time. He drags his best friend with him on his adventures, during which they find themselves in mischief.

The 32-year-old Japanese-American actor and graphic artist graduated from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in Science for computer science and mathematics.

Oka worked for George Lucas' motion picture visual special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, and helped design the special water effects for the film "A Perfect Storm" and "Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead Man's Chest" and the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy.

In addition to his creative work, Oka had several guest spots, such as "Yes Dear" and a recurring role as Franklyn on NBC's "Scrubs." He was also featured in a PS2's "Shinobi" commercial.

Oka will have the lead role of Bruce in the film" Get Smart," due out in 2008.
