"We are very concerned at this point as to her safety," Carrollton police Lt. James Perry told the Times-Georgian. "She has not contacted family or friends since Thursday (July 22)."

"With every day that passes, our hope fades," her father David told WXIA, a local station, by phone. "I just want my daughter home."

According to WSB-TV, Elliott disappeared after visiting a friend. Police have recovered her car from where she apparently parked it.

Carrollton is about 50 miles west of Atlanta.

Rob Douthit, a university spokesman, told the Times-Georgian that campus police are assisting investigators in their search for Elliott.

Elliott is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

Anyone with information about Elliott's disappearance is urged to call Det. Shannon Cantrell at 770-834-4451.
