Man charged with stalking his estranged wife by ordering 18 pizzas

An Illinois man has been charged with stalking his estranged wife, but the manner in which he allegedly did it may appear as somewhat unusual.

Bryant Smith, 47, supposedly placed 18 orders for pizza in one day in his wife's name, reported CBS Station WBBM Chicago.

The woman was contacted by the pizzerias to confirm the orders, which then prompted her to call the police, reported The Chicago Tribune. The orders were traced to Smith's computer. He was ordered held on $200,000 bail.

Smith was already charged for harassing phone calls, violating a restraining order, and allegedly slashing his wife's car tires. Those charges were dropped as prosecutors filed a felony stalking charge against Smith.
