Linda Fears: Family Ties

Linda is the editor in chief of Family Circle magazine. With kids of her own, she always brings a down-to-earth perspective on the issues we discuss on The Early Show segments, "In the Family Circle." I've loved writing for the magazine over the past several years and really appreciate Linda's enthusiasm about my input as a mom.

One of the great things about my job is that I get to speak with 20 million women every month about what is most important to me — my family. As much as I try to inspire them with ways to make their family's life fuller and to help them raise their teens and tweens in a fit and healthy way, I'm continually overwhelmed by what they do to inspire me.

For example, we challenged them to join our FamilyCircle walking program to help raise support for the American Heart Association. In just five weeks, more than 14,000 of our readers logged nearly 290,000 miles walking in support of this program. Along the way, they have written me countless stories of how they are feeling better, fitter, and more importantly, closer as a family. That, to me, is the ultimate inspiration. — Linda Fears
