Last jobs report before election set for release

(CBS News) The final jobs report before the election is set to be released at 8:30 Friday morning, and the Obama and Romney campaigns are both poised to use a shift in unemployment numbers to their advantage in the run-up to election day.

With just four days to go before the presidential election, if analysts are on target, Friday's report will show that last month the economy added 125,000 jobs and the unemployment rate crept up to 7.9 percent, CBS News business and economics correspondent reported Friday on "CBS This Morning."

The new report is a change from recent trends seen in the last several jobs reports. The unemployment rate has steadily come down over the last several months -- in October, unemployment numbers were at the lowest level since President Obama took office. However, job creation has been slowing down month over month

Jarvis added that the report indicates that there has been an increase in jobs related to government work and that manufacturing jobs have dropped off.
