Las Vegas Nightclub Shooting Update: Murder suspect is transferred from hospital to jail
(CBS/AP) LAS VEGAS - A man suspected of killing a patron at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub and injuring two staff members has been moved from the hospital to a jail.
Police say the pre-dawn shooting Oct. 21 at Drai's After Hours in Bally's hotel-casino started with a dispute over a $30 cover charge.
The Las Vegas Sun reports Benjamin Frazier was transferred to the Clark County Detention Center on Sunday.
The 41-year-old ex-convict with a history of alcohol-related arrests at Vegas clubs is expected in court Wednesday on murder, attempted murder and weapons charges in the deadly dispute.
Fraizier is accused of shooting two employees before 40-year-old Kenneth Brown tackled him. Brown was fatally shot in the chest and neck during the struggle.
CBS affiliate KLAS reports Frazier was out of his medical coma Friday. He had suffered head trauma that caused swelling around his brain after the shooting.
Police said the club, which has a capacity of about 500 people, doesn't have metal detectors at the entrance.
