Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland is nominated for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for his role as Jack Bauer in FOX's acclaimed thriller "24." He is one of the executive producers of the show.

The 39-year-old actor has been nominated for each of the show's five seasons but he has yet to win. He won a Golden Globe for the role in 2002 and SAG awards in 2004 and 2006.

The son of actor Donald Sutherland - who is also nominated for an Emmy in a separate category this year - Kiefer was born in London and raised in Canada. His first starring role was in the 1984 Canadian television drama "The Bay Boy."

He had roles in the 1980s movies "Stand By Me," "The Lost Boys," "Bright Lights Big City" and "Young Guns."

In the 1990s he appeared in "Flatliners," "A Few Good Men," "The Three Musketeers" and "A Time To Kill."

More recently, he appeared as the villain in the suspense film "Phone Booth."
