Kelsey Grammer: Camille wanted to marry "Frasier"
(CBS) Kelsey Grammer continued to attack his ex-wife during an interview on "Piers Morgan Tonight," saying that she was just interested in fame, and she wanted a divorce soon after their wedding day.
"Camille asked for a divorce from almost the first day that we were married," he told Piers Morgan. "And I give a piece of advice to women who say, 'I want a divorce' as some sort of tactic. If you say 'I want a divorce' enough times, you're going to get one."

During the interview that aired on Monday, Grammer reiterated his statements that his parting gift to his ex-wife was getting her cast on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
"Whether or not it worked well for her doesn't matter," he said. "It was my way of saying, 'Look, you always wanted to be famous. Here you go.'"
When Morgan asked if Camille married him because he was a TV icon, Grammer responded, "No, I think she married me because I was 'Frasier.'"
Kelsey and Camille Grammer have had a public divorce, and both parties have made negative comments about each other to the media. A custody battle for their two children has also caused much tension between the former couple.
Kelsey Grammer praised his new wife, Kayte Grammer, on the program, telling Morgan that this was the first time he found "proper love." This is his fourth marriage.
The actor added that he wished he had been more upfront with his ex about their marriage ending.
"I was trying to do something, some noble gesture to make the destruction of the previous marriage go easier somehow, and that was a mistake," he said. I should have walked home [to Camille Grammer] and said, 'We're done. You can finally have everything you wanted. I've found a new life."
