Kelsey Grammer lashes out at ex-wife during interview

(CBS) Continuing the on-going public spat between Kelsey Grammer and his ex-wife Camille Grammer, the "Fraiser" star told "Sunrise" hosts that his ex-wife's casting on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" was one of the last kind things he did for her.

"In my mind ("Real Housewives of Beverly Hills") was my parting gift to her," Kelsey Grammer said on the Australian morning news show. "It was a very difficult marriage and a very difficult decade. I thought, 'So long, here's a present for you.'"

Kelsey Grammer, 56, and his ex-wife Camille Grammer, 43, had a public divorce after almost 13 years of marriage. The two have had a custody battle over their two children Mason and Jude, and both have used the press to badmouth each other, including one time where Camille Grammer claimed that her husband and her were not sexually intimate.

It seems the one thing that Kelsey Grammer is protective of is his current wife. He was remarried in February 2011 to British flight attendant Kayte Walsh. His new wife was in attendance during the "Sunrise" interview, and saw the clips of the ex-couple in happier times that aired while Kelsey Grammer was speaking. According to the Australian newspaper, Herald Sun, this set Kelsey Grammer off. He reportedly called the show's entertainment producer Mark Beirne and admonished him for "abusing" him by showing footage of him and his ex on "Real Houswives." "You are a vile person ... a sick dog ... your life must be tragic ... I feel sorry for you," Grammer screamed according to the Herald Sun.

If you want to hear more of Kelsey Grammer's side of the story, he sat down with CNN's Piers Morgan for a one-on-one interview that will air at a future date, according to the Huffington Post. "Kelsey's interview was taped a few weeks ago and, over the two hours he spent with Piers, he opened up much more than anyone thought he would," the CNN insider told a Huffington Post reporter. "With early buzz on his return to TV in 'Boss' being so strong, insiders say he has his old confidence back and is ready to speak for himself, rather than let his ex do all the talking."
