(CBS) The Duchess of Cambridge returned to the designer of her royal wedding gown on Monday night, while attending a gala with Prince William and Prince Harry.

Kate, 29, donned a strapless black dress by Alexander McQueen for "A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards," which honors British servicemen and women.

The duchess completed the look with jewelry she received as wedding gifts, according to the Daily Mail. William, 29, and Harry, 27, both stepped out in black tuxedos.

The Millies, as the awards are called, were handed out in 11 categories to individuals and groups in Britain's armed forces. The ceremony took place at London's Imperial War Museum.

The gala was just part of the William and Kate's holiday schedule. Earlier in the day, they joined Prince Harry and other members of the royal family for a pre-Christmas lunch with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, the Daily Mail reports.

On Wednesday, the couple is scheduled to see the work of Centrepoint, an organization that helps homeless young people. They'll then spend their first Christmas as a married couple at the queen's Sandringham estate.
