Kanye West: My Teeth are Real Diamonds

NEW YORK (CBS) Rapper Kanye West has added a little bling to his pearly white teeth.

While on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday, the artist revealed he had permanent diamonds drilled in the bottom row of his teeth because he "just thought the diamonds were cooler."

"'I guess there's just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do," he said.

West's appearance on "Ellen" was his first TV interview since he delivered a public apology to Taylor Swift while on the "Jay Leno Show," following his onstage outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The 33-year-old opened up about the incident to the talk show host and swore to never attend an award show again.

"I feel like in some ways I'm a soldier of culture," he said. "I realize that no one wants that to be my job and I'll never go on stage again. I'll never sit in an award show again. Will I feel convicted about things that really meant stuff to culture that constantly get denied for years and years? I'm sorry, I will. I cannot lie about it to sell records."
