Biden’s brother says he "absolutely" has another presidential run in him

Joe Biden's brother is expressing confidence that the former vice president is capable of running for president again.

"Absolutely, absolutely," Frank Biden said in an interview with SiriusXM host Michael Smerconish on his radio show when asked if his brother has another run in him.

"Why anyone would think otherwise, I don't know," he added. "And there are a whole lot of people down here in Florida looking forward to it."

Biden's youngest brother spoke of the former vice president's late son Beau Biden, who died after a battle with brain cancer in 2015, and the other family tragedies he's dealt with.

"You have to wonder how my lovely brother can put his feet on the floor every morning with the losses he's endured. And that speaks to his character," Frank Biden told Smerconish.

He described his older brother as his "hero" and said, "I think the moon rises and sets on him."

The younger Biden suggested that his older brother has the ability to attract people from both sides of the aisle.

"If you look at it objectively, Joe is one of the few people in the United States who commands respect from the right and the left based on the fact that you might not like what Joe says, but you can take to the bank whatever he says is true."

His comments come after the former vice president launched a new political action committee last week called American Possibilities PAC, fueling speculation that he could launch another White House bid in 2020. Biden opted out of the 2016 presidential race in October 2015, arguing that he was "out of time" to mount a winning campaign.

If he were to run in four years, Biden will be 78 years old. He served as President Obama's vice president from 2009 until this past January. He previously served in the Senate from 1973 until 2009. He ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and 2008.
