Jo Anne Worley Joins "Drowsy Chaperone"

"The Drowsy Chaperone" is about to be shaken up. No, not Beth Leavel, the Tony Award-winning actress who plays the title character in the hit musical now approaching its second year on Broadway.

Casting changes are afoot for the show, with the big switch occurring April 17. Jo Anne Worley of TV's legendary "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" will replace Georgia Engel as the dotty dowager, Mrs. Tottendale.

On the same date, Janine LaManna will take over the role of Janet Van De Graaff, the cartwheel-turning star of the musical-within-the-musical that is the obsession of a character called Man in Chair. As previously announced, John Glover takes over the role of Man in Chair, also on April 17.

LaManna, last seen on Broadway in the 2005 revival of "Sweet Charity," will appear in the show through July 29. Mara Davi, currently appearing in the Broadway revival of "A Chorus Line," assumes the role of Janet on July 31.
