Jennifer Lopez Won't Do 'Dallas'

Jennifer Lopez won't be wearing Sue Ellen Ewing's shoulder pads on the big screen version of Dallas next year.

The actress's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik tells ShowBuzz that Lopez "is not doing the film," but did not reveal any further details.

In April, British director Gurinder Chadha, who directed "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Bride and Prejudice," announced that she would direct Lopez and John Travolta in the film. At the time she said production would begin in October with an expected 2007 release.

Lopez was supposed to play the boozy, adulterous Sue Ellen opposite Travolta as her scheming oil magnate husband J.R. Ewing.

The actress's next film role will be as a journalist investigating a series of murders in "Bordertown" opposite Antonio Banderas. The film is scheduled for release in October.

Lopez also is producing and co-starring in "El Cantante" as the wife of salsa legend Hector Lavoe, played by her real-life husband Marc Anthony.
