Jennifer Aniston Tops Forbes List

"Friends" star Jennifer Aniston is the top celebrity on the planet, according to a list published Friday.

The wife of Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt headed Forbes magazine's annual "Celebrity 100" list. Aniston finished 28th last year.

Celebrities are ranked according to their earnings over the past 12 months, plus other factors, including magazine covers, Internet site hits, press clippings and mentions on TV and radio.

The 33-year-old actress earned $35 million last year, according to Forbes. She is paid a staggering million dollars per episode for her role as Rachel in the hit TV show that made her name.

The series is due to end next year. While some of her TV co-stars have struggled to make a successful transition to the big screen, Aniston's role in last year's low-budget film 'The Good Girl' was a hit with the critics.

She also makes up one half of Hollywood's golden couple, after marrying Pitt three years ago. Her husband, however, doesn't appear in the top 100 at all.

Neither does pop singer Britney Spears, who topped the Forbes list last year.

Rapper Eminem came in second on the list, together with his producer Dr Dre, followed by golfer Tiger Woods and director Steven Spielberg.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have now earned the title of Hollywood's leading power couple, at numbers five and seven respectively.
