How to Avoid Unwanted Phone Calls

Tired of getting unwanted calls on your cell phone? Sure, you can always send an incoming call straight to voice mail, but only if you recognize the number (via caller ID) as one you want to ignore. The Cranking Widgets Blog offers this clever idea: Create a new contact called "Ignore," then add undesirables to it. (Most phones let you assign multiple, if not unlimited, numbers to any given contact.)

Specifically, after you take one call from, say, a service center, pesky salesperson, or some other annoying caller, your phone will ask if you want to add the number to your address book. Do so, but use the newly created Ignore contact. Now, the next time you get a call from that number (and others within that contact), the caller ID will pop up as "Ignore" -- and you'll know not to answer.
