How did Stephen Colbert do as "Late Show" host? Social media weighs in

Stephen Colbert made his debut as "Late Show" host Tuesday night with a show that featured a mix of humor, Hollywood and politics.

Colbert's opening monologue gave him a chance to show off his flashy new set. He later had a chat with late-night rival Jimmy Fallon and there was even a surprise cameo from Jon Stewart. His first two interviews? Actor George Clooney and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

"With this show I begin the search for the real Stephen Colbert," he said at the start of the episode. "I just hope I don't find him on Ashley Madison."

The premiere ended with a star-studded rendition of Sly & the Family Stone's "Everyday People," featuring "Late Show" bandleader Jon Batiste, along with Mavis Staples, Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes, Ben Folds and Aloe Blacc.
