Hilary Duff has returned to music.

The singer/actress unveiled a video for her new single "Chasing the Sun" on Monday. The track, which was co-written by Toby Gad, Colbie Caillat and Jason Reeves, will appear on Duff's upcoming studio album -- her first since 2007's "Dignity."

Since that time, Duff has turned her attention to acting, making guest appearances on "Two and a Half Men" and "Raising Hope." She also published a young adult novel in 2010.

Duff, 26, became a mother since releasing her last studio album, welcoming her first child with hockey player Mike Comrie in 2010. Earlier this year, Duff and Comrie announced they were splitting up.
