"I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture," Stefani said in a statement. "The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years."

Stefani has drawn inspiration from Japanese culture, particularly Tokyo's trendy Harajuku shopping district, in her solo endeavors. Her first solo album, "Love Angel Music Baby.," featured a song called "Harajuku Girls" in which she shares her admiration for the district's fashionable inhabitants. She also has a Harajuku Lovers clothing, accessories and fragrance line, in addition to her L.A.M.B. line.

In addition to her donation, Stefani designed a Harajuku Lovers T-shirt, which will be available for sale on the band's website starting next week, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting Japan relief efforts.

Stefani isn't the only star who's gotten involved in the wake of the disaster. Lady Gaga has raised more than $250,000 for relief efforts through the sale of a wristband she designed, and Demi Lovato and Sandra Bullock have each donated $1 million to the cause.
