Florida woman asks 911 for officer who isn't "an amateur"
BOCA RATON, Fla. --A Florida woman was arrested Monday after she repeatedly called 911 to report that her car had been stolen, even after officers arrived to investigate, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.
Lisa Makris, 45, made the first of her eight calls to 911 at 4:54 a.m. Monday, according to a Boca Raton police report.
When asked by a dispatcher where her car was last seen, Makris reportedly replied that she didn't know, "because I had a blackout from drinking."
Makris called three more times to make sure that a police officer was coming to meet her.
She called again after an officer arrived, saying the officer who responded was "not being professional enough."
She later referred to the officer as "an amateur," WKMG reports.
Eventually, the dispatcher reminded Makris that 911 is meant to be used in life-or-death emergencies, and provided Makris with a number for non-emergency calls.
After a final warning, Makris was arrested on a charge of misuse of the 911 system.
