(CBS) - Florida police say a man raped and imprisoned a Daytona Beach woman in her apartment before leaving to go to a domestic violence class, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Ahmed Feisal Gad, 35, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of sexual battery, aggravated battery, burglary, false imprisonment and violation of a domestic violence injunction.

Cops say Gad rammed into the victim's car on a Daytona Beach roadway Friday night before the alleged sexual assault, the Sentinel reports.

Gad reportedly fled the scene of the crash but then forced his way into the victim's apartment later that night. The 35-year-old allegedly raped the woman, holding her down and biting her several times in the process.

According to the Sentinel, he set the air conditioner to cold and forced her to stand in the corner naked, reports say. An arrest report says Gad stayed the night in the victim's apartment, and raped her again in the morning.

When the suspect left to attend a domestic-violence class, police say he left behind the victim's cell phone allowing her to call for help.

The nature of the victim's relationship with Gad was withheld, but the Orlando Sentinel reports that she had a domestic violence injunction against the man prior to the Friday assault.
