Fla. Dad Too Drunk to Drive, in Trouble for Giving Keys to 15-Year-Old Son
TAMPA, Fla. (CBS/AP) A man in central Florida who was drunk did one thing right - he realized he was too intoxicated to drive.
He also did something wrong, say Hillsborough County police - he let his 15-year-old son get behind the wheel instead.
Hillsborough County deputies stopped 41-year-old Darran Foraker's Dodge Caravan Saturday night because its brake lights were out. An arrest report says that's when they realized the minivan was being driven by Foraker's son.The arrest report says the father told deputies he was too drunk to drive and didn't have money to stay at a hotel because he spent it all on alcohol. He also told deputies he was too drunk to care for the teen.
Deputies arrested the man and took him to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he was held on $2,000 bail.
