After Facebook plea, man finds wedding rings lost in tornado

CANTON, Texas -- A Facebook stranger has become a hero to two newlyweds who lost a symbol of their love in a severe storm.

CBS Philadelphia reports Justin and Ariel Duke lost their entire home in Canton, Texas, in April due to destruction from a tornado that tore through their neighborhood. The storm damage left the couple hopeless, and Ariel became concerned with what was lost inside of the house -- her wedding ring and band.

After six days of searching, the couple lost hope. Justin posted their situation on Facebook.

When metal detector Nathan Wright saw the post, he decided to put his skills to work.

"I started at the side of the house and started doing circles," Wright said. "[I] started going in lines and following debris."

Wright found the ring after a four-hour search.

"I just hollered out," he said. "I'm sure anybody around thought that I was going crazy, but I hollered out, and I thanked the lord I was able to find it."

Then, 20 minutes later, he found Ariel's wedding band, too.
