Eva Longoria confirms she's dating Ernesto Arguello

Eva Longoria is going public with her new romance.

Three months ago, rumors swirled that the actress was dating Miami-based entrepreneur and philanthropist Ernesto Arguello. She's now told People that while the rumors weren't true then, they are now.

"I think that's why our relationship is so special -- we truly started as friends," the former "Desperate Housewives" star, 38, said.

She added, "I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!"

Longoria met Arguello, 34, when he was cast in "Ready for Love," the reality dating show she produced. He chose former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey as his date, but split last year.

On Thursday, Longoria took to Twitter to announce the relationship news, writing, "Happy to share NOW that it's true! Couldn't be happier."

Arguello re-tweeted her message, adding, "Me too baby, I LOVE YOU."

The couple just got back from Nicaragua, where she was introduced to Arguello's entire family, according to People.

Longoria was previously married to NBA player Tony Parker -- she filed for divorce in 2010 after three years of marriage -- and has dated Eduardo Cruz (the brother of actress Penelope Cruz) and NFL player Mark Sanchez.
