HIALEAH, Fla. (CBS/AP) The half brother of former Yankee star Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, Gerardo Regalado, allegedly committed a shocking murder-suicide rampage in South Florida Sunday, that left four women dead, including his wife, and wounded three others.

The rampage began in the parking lot of Yoyito Restaurant in Hialeah, Fla.,about 11 miles northwest of Miami, where Regalado was seen arguing with his wife, Liazan Molina, Hialeah police Detective Eddie Rodriguez said.

Regalado, of Coral Gables, Fla., allegedly shot Molina and then charged into the restaurant, bypassing two men before opening fire on a group of six women, killing three of them and critically wounding three others.

"He went straight for the women," Rodriguez said.

Felix Fuentes said his sister, Ivet Coronado, called him after the shooting saying she had been shot and was bleeding.

She told him to "please call 911," according to Fuentes. Coronado was recovering Monday from gunshot wounds to her chest and arm.

Police say that after the shooting Regaldo fled the scene in one victim's car and was found a few blocks away, dead of an apparent suicide with the same weapon used in the restaurant rampage.

Hernandez' agent, Mike Maulini, told the Spanish-language newspaper El Nuevo Herald that the family does not know what caused Regalado to shoot seven women.

"This has taken everyone by surprise," Maulini said.

"It is with great pain that we reach out to everyone affected and offer our prayers in this time of sorrow," a statement from the Hernandez family said.

Regalado and Molina were reportedly married in 2007 but had recently separated, according to the New York Post.

Recently Regalado posted a message to her Facebook page, saying, "I had everything and I threw it away," according to the paper.

Another recent message read "My days have no sunshine; the nights have no stars," and called Molina "the love of [his] life."
