It's really official now -- "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E L James has confirmed Jamie Dornan as the new man playing Christian Grey.

After multiple reports of Dornan's casting came out Thursday, James took to Twitter to welcome him to the film adaptation of her racy bestseller.

The 31-year-old Irish actor replaces "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam, who withdrew from the film earlier this month citing scheduling conflicts.

Dornan will star alongside Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing the project.

The "Fifty Shades" film is scheduled to be released on Aug. 1, 2013.
