Although some say the movie hasn't done as well as expected at the box office, a Sony rep told EW.com that it "continues to do strong business and nothing has changed with respect to development of the next book."

"Dragon Tattoo" has raked in about $60 million in the U.S. since it hit theaters last month. Even though that number didn't match original predictions, critics and audiences seem to like the film. It was also just nominated for the Producers Guild's best picture honor.

Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig have already said they would be up for starring in the film adaptation of "The Girl Who Played With Fire," the next book in Stieg Larsson's trilogy. It's still unclear whether director David Fincher will be on board again, but according to EW.com, "Dragon Tattoo" screenwriter Steven Zaillian is working on the screenplay.
