(CBS) - An Oakland man has been convicted of murder in the shooting death of his friend during an argument over the "existence of God," CBS San Francisco reports.

Douglas Yim, 33, was found guilty of first-degree murder Tuesday in the death of his 25-year-old friend Dzuy Duhn Phan.

Yim's friend Paul Park testified at trial that Yim allegedly killed Phan after an alcohol and cocaine-fueled argument over the existence of God. Park  told the court that Yim became enraged and grabbed his gun after Phan asked him where God was when Yim's father died several years before.

Yim shot Phan at least six times. He faces life in prison.
