DA: Warden's Wife Helped Inmate Escape

The wife of a deputy prison warden who disappeared with a convicted killer in 1994 and spent ten years on the run with him is now charged with helping him escape.

Prosecutors say Bobbi Parker is charged with helping Randolph Dial escape from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite where Parker's husband Randy was deputy warden.

Bobbi Parker and Dial were found in April 2005 in east Texas where she was working on a chicken farm.

Parker then reunited with her husband and two daughters. Dial died last year.

Randy Parker is now a Department of Corrections official in McAlester and told The Associated Press by telephone he and his wife are "waiting to see what happens next."

Jackson County District Attorney John Wampler says part of the delay in filing charges is because the lead investigator was in Iraq and that the initial investigation focused on Dial.

A court affidavit says Dial and Parker were "romantically involved" and that Parker drove her vehicle with Dial hidden inside.

After the two were captured Dial said he kidnapped Parker at knifepoint and forced her to live with him.
