Contemporary musicians reimagine legendary classics

(CBS News) In a very interesting conceptual twist, some major contemporary musicians and bands have come together to reimagine legendary songs that influenced them. And while a total of 15 different music videos have been created, we're going to highlight two for you in this post starting with The Shins performing Bukka White's "Fixin' To Die" above. Take a look and listen.

The project comes courtesy of The Grammys and is entitled "ReImagining." And I've just got to say that I can really get behind the idea of major musicians paying tribute to their personal idols and influences with unique renditions of their favorite songs. But what are your thoughts? As always, feel free to leave me some comment love. I'm including another exceptional performance by Eric Benet performing Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind" below for you. And to check out more great music from this project, you can visit The Grammys' "ReImagining" website by clicking here.
