Conn. man arrested after he calls police to report burglary

BRANFORD, Conn. --A man was arrested on drug charges after he reported a burglary to police Saturday night,reports CBS Connecticut.

Investigators say they received a call around 8:30 p.m. Saturday from Taylor Sapiente, who was reporting a break-in. When they arrived at the 22-year-old's apartment, police say they noticed an "overwhelming" smell of marijuana.

After a search of the apartment, police say they found several drugs -- including marijuana and a substance believed to be crystal meth -- as well as drug paraphernalia, according to the station.

Sapiente was reportedly arrested on multiple drug charges, including sale or possession of narcotics with intent to sell and sale or possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Bond was set at $50,000 pending an appearance Monday in New Haven Superior Court, according to CBS Connecticut.
