FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS/KCNC) Investigators have released very little information regarding the search for a Colorado psychic and her husband, but detectives have said they suspect foul play, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's office.
Police began looking for 57-year-old Kathy Adams, known as "Psychic Kathy" at her fortune-telling business, and her 48-year-old husband John Marks Jr. last Wednesday after out-of-state family members said they hadn't heard from the woman since Oct. 7, reports CBS affiliate KCNC.
Spokeswoman Eloise Campanella says sheriff's deputies conducted a welfare check at the couple's home and discovered "suspicious circumstances" that led investigators to believe that foul play was involved.
Late Monday afternoon investigators said they recovered a 1995 silver four-door Buick LaSabre believed to be the vehicle last used by the couple. It was discovered at a Weld County motel last week, according to KCNC. Detectives have executed 10 search warrants in the case and interviewed more than a dozen people.
Adams' relatives have reportedly traveled to Colorado to aide with the investigation. The family says that they believe Adams was trying to leave her husband, according to ABC 7 News.
A sheriff's spokesperson called the investigation "extremely active" and also says releasing further information would jeopardize the case.
