Christina Aguilera Files for Divorce from Jordan Bratman
NEW YORK (CBS) Court records show singer Christina Aguilera has filed for divorce from her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman.
The 29-year-old Grammy-winning singer signed and filed the divorce petition on Thursday in Los Angeles, just days after she released a statement that confirmed the two have separated.
In the court papers, obtained by TMZ, Aguilera cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. She lists the date of separation as Sept. 11, 2010.
Aguilera is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 2-year-old son, Max.
"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," Aguilera said in the statement on Tuesday, according to People.
Aguilera and Bratman, 33, a music executive, married in California's Napa Valley in 2005.
