Chris Brown leads nominations for 2011 BET Awards

(CBS/AP) At last year's BET Awards, Chris Brown performed an emotional tribute to Michael Jackson which marked the comeback of the problem ridded star.

At this year's show, Brown is the top contender with six nominations.

Brown is up for best male R&B artist, viewer's choice and video of the year for "Look at Me Now." He's nominated twice in the best collaboration category for his No. 1 R&B hits "Deuces," featuring Tyga and Kevin McCall, and "Look at Me Now," with Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. Brown is also nominated for best actor for his role in the heist thriller "Takers."

Right behind Brown is Lil Wayne with five nominations. Three of his nominations are from his collaboration on Brown's "Look at Me Now." The rapper is up for the award for best male hip-hop artist and viewer's choice for "6 Foot 7 Foot."

Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna are all up for four awards.

Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" is up for video of the year alongside West's "Runaway," B.O.B's "Airplanes," Keri Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock" and Marsha Ambrosius' "Far Away."

Smith is also nominated for best new artist and the YoungStars Award. Other artists up for nominations include Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, B.O.B, Bruno Mars and Cee Loo Green.

Grammy-winnier Alicia Keys is set to perform at the June 26 show at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles with Kevin Hart taking hosting duties.
