NEW YORK (CBS) Charlie Sheen was taken to New York Hospital after police were called to his Manhattan hotel room early Tuesday morning, say reports. The "Two and a Half Men" actor allegedly trashed the suite and when police arrived was drunk and naked, according to the New York Post.

Furniture had been thrown around and a chandelier in the room was damaged, according to the New York paper; the 45-year-old reportedly told police that he had been "out partying."

Denise Richards, Sheen's ex-wife, was staying in a separate room, says the Post, and accompanied him to the hospital at about 2:30 a.m.

TMZ reports that police sources claim Sheen was "intoxicated, irrational" and "emotionally disturbed."

According to TMZ, Sheen was in New York to spend time with Richards and their two children.

In August, Sheen avoided jail time for the Christmas 2009 assault of his wife Brooke Mueller by taking a plea deal where he received as punishment a combination of probation, rehabilitation, and anger management.
