"The NYPD will be taking the appropriate measure to gain access to Charlie Sheen's criminal file in Aspen. Charlie was still on probation when he allegedly assaulted Capri Anderson," a source told RadarOnline.

Police are hoping to compare the incident in Aspen last Christmas involving the "Two and a Half Men" actor and his estranged wife Brooke Mueller, to the most recent incident in October involving the porn actress, Anderson, alleged drug use and assault, says Radar.

Anderson, whose real name is Christina Walsh, filed a criminal complaint against Sheen accusing him of holding her against her will as he trashed his New York City hotel room at The Plaza.

Sheen countersued Walsh for extortion and has accused her of stealing his $165,000 watch. He also claims Walsh works as a prostitute in addition to being a porn star, reports RadarOnline.

In order to properly investigate Walsh's claim, the NYPD needs the Aspen file because Mueller refuses to meet with them claiming "she has nothing to add to the investigation," a source told the gossip site.

The source says with any luck, the NYPD investigation will "be wrapped up by the end of the year" which is just in time for some New Year's resolutions.
